HPI is warning motorists to be on their guard after the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) issued an alert confirming that stolen log books (V5) are still circulating and being used by criminals to clone stolen cars. HPI is the UK’s leading independent vehicle information specialist and the only one that includes a stolen V5 document check as standard, confirming the V5 registration document is not one of the batch the DVLA confirmed as stolen. CRiS scheme helps foil major caravan crime ring

A major crime operation which contributed to a significant number of caravan thefts in the last three years has been disbanded following the prosecution of a gang of four travellers. HPI, the UK’s leading vehicle information expert, provided key information from the NCC’s (National Caravan Council) Caravan Registration and Identification Scheme, CRiS. Wiltshire Police, working alongside CRiS, uncovered a host of criminal activities which yielded a total of £970,000 of stolen vehicles, cash and jewellery.
